July Events include Fireworks, Barbecues, Baseball and Santa?

It's July in the AV and that means all kinds of summer events are right around the corner. First I'd like to remind everyone to have a safe Independence Day celebration. Except for Palmdale fireworks are illegal in most of the Antelope Valley. So find a local celebration and enjoy the show. Residents of Palmdale are allowed the so called "safe and sane" fireworks sold in booths around the city, but even these have tight restrictions. Be sure you know the areas and times where they are allowed and more importantly when and where they are not. And be sure to have everyone wear shoes! Palmdale High School, & the AV Fairgraounds in Lancaster have free public fireworks displays and the JetHawks will host a special celebration.

Speaking of the JetHawks, later in this month at Clear Channel Stadium, Santa is coming to town. That's right it's Christmas in July! Grace Resources and the Lancaster JetHawks will team up July 19th for a barbecue, a ballgame and Santa. Each child at the game will receive a toy. Come on out and support this great organization.

Grace has served the local community for 18 years now. Many thousands of area residents depend on the services offered. They provide hot meals and groceries. Help arrange emergency housing, crisis counseling and many other support services for anyone in need or down on their luck. Their services are needed more than ever so donations are welcome. Whether you can make it out to the game or not, visit Grace Resources to find out how you can help bring a little "holiday" joy to someone less fortunate
